This evaluation report comprehensively elucidates the impact and outcomes of the first ever Fast Elimination of Malaria by Source Eradication (FEMSE) project , a Chinese health development aid project in Comoros. It also offers conclusions and recommendations for implementing similar strategies in the future. The FEMSE project was launched in 2007 by the faculty of the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, and over the past over seven years, it has covered the entire Comoros population of 900,000. It differs substantially from previous Chinese health development aid projects in that it employs medical teams, infrastructure construction, and small group training sessions. This report also draws conclusions and offers recommendations for key stakeholders, including teams implementing future projects. It provides insights for the Chinese government into the impact of their funds, and suggests the next steps for the Comorian government in terms of sustaining the outcome.
