This work contains essays by Dietmar Dath, Christian Demand, Joachim Valentin, and Udo Kittelmann. This publication is appearing to coincide with the presentation of the group of works by Thomas Demand entitled ""Klause/Tavern"". It contains photographs that the artist took in his studio between August 2005 and January 2006 while working on the series. The five actual pictures in the series, and they are deliberately not reproduced here, are shown from March - August 2006 at Museum fur Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt/Main in the framework of the exhibition of the Apocalypse, the rediscovered cycle of hand-coloured Max Beckmann lithographs made in 1941/42.
