Aus der kritischen Würdigung der Entwicklungslinien der Unterrichtsforschung als empirischer Wissenschaft heraus wird ein integrativer Ansatz der Unterrichtsforschung entwickelt, der über die formale Forderung nach Mehrebenenanalyse hinaus versucht, die Konzepte der Sozialisation und der Ökologie als sinnvolle Strukturelemente eines solchen mehrperspektivischen Zugangs zu verwenden. Das theoretische Konzept wird an einer empirischen Untersuchung aus dem Bereich der Verkehrserziehung exemplifiziert. Zentrale Probleme dieser Untersuchung sind dabei die Herstellung von Bezügen zwischen der beruflichen Sozialisation von Polizisten und ihrem fachfremden Handeln als Verkehrserzieher und die Analyse ihres unterrichtlichen Verhaltens.
