Ziel der Studie ist, die an das Prädikat gebundene, mit Hilfe der Negationselemente NE - PAS, RIEN etc. wiedergegebene negative Modalität in der gesprochenen Sprache zu untersuchen. Es können Konstruktionen ermittelt werden, die die Setzung von NE begünstigen, und andere, die sich NE gegenüber eher resistent verhalten. Der gewählte linguistische Erklärungsansatz führt zu relativ eindeutigen Ergebnissen und erlaubt, bei der deskriptiven Analyse von Negationssätzen über individuelle Varianten hinweg gemeinsame Züge aufzuzeigen. Dabei lässt sich erkennen, dass zumeist eine Kombination mehrerer Kriterien für häufiges oder geringes Auftreten von NE ausschlaggebend ist.
