1886 wurde die seit 1879 geltende Zivilprozessordnung des Deutschen Reiches zum ersten Male geändert. Damit wurde eine lange Reihe von Gesetzesänderungen eingeleitet, mit denen das Zivilverfahrensrecht den jeweiligen Erfordernissen angepasst werden sollte. Diese Gesetzgebungstätigkeit wäre ohne die entsprechende Mitwirkung des Parlamentes nicht möglich gewesen. Die Arbeit schildert die Einflüsse, unter denen sich diese Gesetzgebungstätigkeit im Deutschen Reich vollzog.
