Die große französische Designerin Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999) arbeitete Ende der Zwanziger Jahre im Atelier Le Corbusiers mit. Arthur Rüeggs Einleitungsessay lässt jene Zeit des Aufbruchs in Text und Bild wieder aufleben; seine präzisen Detail-Kommentare zu allen Zeichnungen Perriands erschließen sie in ihrem Reichtum dem Verständnis des Lesers. Der Herausgeber Arthur Rüegg (*1942), Professor für Architektur und Konstruktion an der Eidgenössischen Technischen Hochschule in Zürich, ist der führende Forscher zur Innenarchitektur, zur Farbenlehre und zum Möbeldesign Le Corbusiers.
