La presente monografía está destinada a reivindicar una figura poco conocida del panorama artístico español fuera de Cataluña: Ramon Calsina Baró (1901-1992), un pintor difícil de encuadrar, lo que no le impidió desarrollar una notable e influyente trayectoria. Para ello nos centramos en dos de sus aportaciones como ilustrador: por un lado, inspiradas en Don Quijote, las litografías publicadas por Osa Menor (1958) y las ilustraciones editadas por Nauta (1967) y, por otro, los dibujos basados en la obra literaria de Edgar A. Poe (dieciocho dibujos ""preparatorios"" y las viñetas definitivas publicadas por Nauta en 1971). Es esta la primera vez que se publican al completo y de manera conjunta las dos series de dibujos originales.
