Dieses Buch beschäftigt sich mit der ersten italienischen Einwanderergeneration in der belgischen Provinz Limburg, die sich nun im Rentenalter befindet und Gebrauch der dortigen Gesundheits- und Altenbetreuungseinrichtungen macht. In dieser empirischen Forschungsarbeit wurde anhand einer teilnehmenden Beobachtung und eines Fragebogens ermittelt, welche Bedürfnisse die älteren Italiener haben, ob sich diese Bedürfnisse von denen der einheimischen Älteren unterscheiden und ob sie von den Verantwortlichen wahrgenommen und befriedigt werden.
