Die Arbeit untersucht den Einfluss von Lobbying auf die Entwicklung der internationalen Rechnungslegungsvorschriften (IFRS). Als Datenbasis dienen mehrere hundert Kommentarschreiben unterschiedlicher Interessengruppen, die zwischen 2005 und 2009 an das International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) gerichtet wurden. Nach einer Analyse der Beteiligung am Standardsetzungsprozess folgt eine Untersuchung der Meinungspositionen, die von den Interessengruppen zu einzelnen Regelungen der IFRS geäußert wurden. Schließlich wird in einem dritten Schritt analysiert, ob bestimmte Organisationen oder Interessengruppen einen höheren Einfluss auf das IASB haben als andere.
