Die Unterstützung der Innovationstätigkeit von Unternehmen durch staatliche Förderung stellt ein populäres Instrument der Politik dar. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei die Fragestellung, inwiefern sich Unternehmen, die Innovationsfördermittel erhalten haben, von nicht geförderten Unternehmen unterscheiden.
