In diesem Buch werden differenzierte semantische Analysen der Abtönungspartikeln doch und ja entwickelt und potentielle tschechische Äquivalente dieser Partikeln bestimmt. Dies erfolgt im Rekurs auf eine umfangreiche Korpuserhebung sowie Informantenbefragungen. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit wird den Partikel-Kombinationen mit doch und ja gewidmet; es werden semantische Analysen vorgeschlagen, die auch das syntaktische Verhalten dieser Kombinationen erklären helfen. Die Untersuchung wird von einer Diskussion linguistisch-methodologischer Grundfragen flankiert. Es wird eine Vermittlung bedeutungsminimalistischer und -maximalistischer Ansätze angestrebt. Zudem wird dafür argumentiert, bei der Analyse von Abtönungspartikeln den Faktor Idiomatisierung zu berücksichtigen.
