Die Analyse der hermeneutischen und theologischen Bedeutung dieser Kategorie und ihrer Verwendung im Zweiten Petrusbrief führt zu folgender These: Der pseudonyme Autor vergegenwärtigt in der Anamnese die heilsgeschichtliche Situation des Apostels Petrus, er wird gleichzeitig mit ihm und tritt anamnetisch an seine Stelle. Die Pseudepigraphie ist deshalb nicht nur «erinnerte Tradition», sondern auch «Mittel der Anamnese». Durch eine anamnetische Textinterpretation können somit Autorenschaft und Brief als Ausdruck anamnetischer Apostolizität verstanden werden.
