Als sich die frühchristlichen Väter mit dem philosophischen Kontemplationsideal und der theoretischen Ideologie der Gnosis auseinandersetzen mußten, vermochten sie die biblisch-christliche Theorie-Praxis-Einheit gegen eine praxisvergessene vita contemplativa zu behaupten.
