Die Untersuchung beinhaltet ein Lexikon des Wortnestes grad/gorod, das auf Übersetzungen von über 1000 Nachweisen in altkirchenslavischen und altrussischen Texten ins Deutsche beruht. Mit Hilfe dieser Daten sowie ihrer Spiegelung vor Erkenntnissen der Wortbildung und Kulturgeschichte werden allgemeine semantische Funktionen und Mechanismen der altrussischen Periode skizziert.
