Mit der Untersuchung wird das Ziel verfolgt, Gestaltungsempfehlungen für eine verhaltenssteuernde Kostenrechnung theoretisch zu fundieren. Hierzu wird auf Ansätze der verhaltenstheoretischen Betriebswirtschaftslehre und der neueren Mikroökonomik zurückgegriffen. Die Notwendigkeit für eine verhaltensorientierte Kostenrechnung wird in unternehmungsinternen Anreizproblemen, wie organisationsbedingten Interessenkonflikten, Informationsunvollkommenheiten sowie in der Existenz von Transaktionskosten gesehen. Mit der Annahme, daß menschliches Verhalten eine systematische Reaktion auf situative Anreizbedingungen vor dem Hintergrund einer spezifischen Motivationsstruktur und einer spezifischen Rationalitätshypothese darstellt, wird ein theoretisches Fundament für die Kostenrechnungsgestaltung zur Verfügung gestellt.
