Die Autorin zeigt anhand von Fallrekonstruktionen auf der Basis vielfältigen Datenmaterials, welche bewussten und unbewussten Erwartungen, Hoffnungen und Ansprüche mit der beruflichen Tätigkeit verbunden werden und inwiefern diese biographisch begründet sind. Aus einer religionssoziologischen Perspektive wird der Zusammenhang zwischen Berufswahl und (struktureller) Religiosität beleuchtet.
