Sie wenden sich an diejenigen, die fur die Gestaltung von Gottesdiensten Verantwortung tragen. Ihren Sitz im Leben hatten die Entwurfe ursprunglich im sogenannten zweiten Programm. Durch ihren Aufbau und ihre Anknupfung an das Kirchenjahr konnen sie jedoch auch Ideen fur Gottesdienste in anderen Zusammenhangen liefern. Sie sind dem Kirchenjahr verpflichtet und versuchen zugleich lebensgeschichtliche Themen aufzunehmen. Im Aufbau orientieren sie sich an der protestantischen Gottesdiensttradition. Durch kreative Elemente und uberraschende Wendungen besitzen manche Entwurfe aber zugleich einen experimentellen Charakter. Es finden sich Entwurfe zu Sonntagen unter anderem im Advent, zu Neujahr, Lichtmess, zu Karfreitag, zur Passions- und Osterzeit, zu Kantate oder Pfingsten sowie zur Sommerzeit, Erntedank oder zum Ende des Kirchenjahres. Stephan Goldschmidt setzt mit diesem Band sein Angebot Meditativer Abendgottesdienste fort, die er in Dienst am Wort, Band 122 begonnen hat.
