| book description |
Worship is the most important room for Bible reception. The importance of Holy Scripture goes far beyond reading it: prayers and songs are also shaped by the Bible; biblical texts have inspired rituals. This anthology is part of the large interdisciplinary project ""Novum Testamentum Patristicum"". It bundles the methodological perspectives of biblical and liturgical studies, patrology and musicology as well as innovative approaches to codicology and material culture. He investigates the use of the Bible in the variety of liturgical genres and reflects on their hermeneutical prerequisites; In doing so, he takes into account the ecumenical and linguistic breadth of the various rites of Christianity in East and West in the formative phase of the first millennium: from Ethiopia to Spain, from Syria via Byzantium and Rome to Gaul.
