Konrad Klapheck (* 1935) hat sich seit den 1960er Jahren eine Motivwelt erschlossen, die eigentlich dem Alltag entstammt: Gegenstande wie Nah- und Schreibmaschinen, Schuhe, Bugeleisen oder Fahrrader wurden von ihm isoliert und monumentalisiert. Er begab sich damit in die Tradition des Surrealismus, den er jedoch neu interpretierte, ganz im Zeitgefuhl der 60er Jahre, als die Pop Art die Welt von Werbung und Konsum als kunstwurdig entdeckte. Die Dinge entfalten bei Klapheck ein seltsames Eigenleben, koennen bedrohlich oder geheimnisvoll wirken. Manchmal schimmern erotische Stimmungen durch die glanzenden Oberflachen hindurch. Der Betrachter kann Phantasien und Assoziationen in reicher Fulle entwickeln. Ausstellung und Katalog stellen das gesamte, 54 Motive umfassende graphische Werk von Konrad Klapheck vor. Es entstand zwischen 1960 und 2007 und enthalt Radierungen und Lithographien, darunter viele farbige Blatter. Verschiedene Motive hat der Kunstler ubermalt und auf diese Weise Unikate geschaffen. Etliche Motive existieren in Farbvarianten oder als Positiv-Negativ-Varianten.
