Obwohl diese Vorstellungen weitgehend akzeptiert sind, erzeugt ihre fort- wÃ¤hrende Wiederholung zumindest in der Praxis geradezu eine Abwehrhaltung. Viele Unternehmen haben in den achtziger Jahren (meist mit externen Beratern) die Potentiale der Infonnationstechnik fÃ¼r ihre GeschÃ¤ftspolitik untersucht, unter- nehmensweite Infonnationssystem-Architekturen mit grossem Aufwand ent- wickelt und stehen heute vor einer kaum verÃ¤nderten Situation: einem Anwen- dungsrÃ¼ckstau, unzufriedenen Fachabteilungen, einer erdrÃ¼ckenden Ressourcen- bindung durch die Wartung bestehender Applikationen, stÃ¤ndig steigenden Infonnatikkosten und langen Entwicklungszeiten. Dazu kommt die EnttÃ¤uschung, dass die Infonnationssystem-Architektur die Probleme nicht gelÃ¶st hat.
