In zahlreichen Publikationen hat sich Paul Tillich zum Protestantismus im Horizont der Moderne geäußert. Neben Beiträgen zu Tillichs Deutung des Protestantismus und seiner Zukunft bietet das Jahrbuch weitere Beiträge zu dessen Theologie sowie eine Erstedition von Tillichs Vorträgen zum Thema Der Absolutheitsanspruch des Christentums und die Weltreligionen, die er 1963 in Stuttgart und Tübingen gehalten hat.
