Christentum und Islam bestimmen das VerhÃ¤ltnis von Religion und Politik in je spezifischer Weise. Dies grÃ¼ndet, so die These, in unterschiedlichen ""Grammatiken"" mit irreversiblen Elementen: in GrÃ¼nderfiguren (Jesus, Paulus, Mohammed), autoritativen Texten (Neues Testament/KirchenvÃ¤ter, Koran/Hadithe) und frÃ¼hen politischen Erfahrungen (Machtdistanz im Christentum, MachtausÃ¼bung im Islam). Die daraus entstehenden ""Pfaddispositionen"" zeigen sich in der Aktualisierung des kollektiven GedÃ¤chtnisses. Dabei entstehen durch Interpretation Entwicklungswahrscheinlichkeiten, keine determinierten Prozesse. Ã„hnliche Elemente in beiden Religionen fÃ¼hren dann aufgrund ihrer ""StatusrelativitÃ¤t"" (einem unterschiedlichen Stellenwert) zu unterschiedlichen Entwicklungen. Die Auswirkungen der Grammatiken werden am Christentum in Lateineuropa und dem Islam im Osmanischen Reich diskutiert. Mit der Globalisierung seit dem 19. Jahrhundert sind zwei Faktoren hinzugekommen: Demokratie und SÃ¤kularisierung. In diesem historischen und zeitgenÃ¶ssischen BedingungsgefÃ¼ge bestimmen Islam und Christentum das VerhÃ¤ltnis von Religion und Politik weiterhin unterschiedlich, wie an Fallbeispielen (Fribourg, Frankreich, Iran, Tunesien) gezeigt wird.
