Gegenstand der Untersuchung sind die endophorischen (d.h. nicht-situativen) Verwendungen demonstrativischer AusdrÃ¼cke im heutigen FranzÃ¶sischen und Italienischen. Ausgangspunkt der sprachvergleichenden Analyse ist die morphologisch definierte Klasse der Demonstrativa in beiden Sprachen. In Abgrenzung zu den Funktionen von definitem Artikel und Personalpronomen werden die einzelnen Verwendungstypen ermittelt und deixistheoretisch eingeordnet. Ausgangspunkt ist die Annahme, dass auch die nicht-situativen, d.h. vor allem anaphorische und kataphorische, Verwendungen der Demonstrativa grundsÃ¤tzlich deiktischen Charakter haben. Es wird gezeigt, dass in den endophorischen Verwendungen in beiden Sprachen eine eigenstÃ¤ndige Realisierung der Deixis vorliegt, die nur marginal Ã¼ber die NÃ¤he/Distanz-Relation im Text verlÃ¤uft. GroÃŸe Unterschiede im Form-FunktionsverhÃ¤ltnis zeigen sich dabei v.a. bei den morphosyntaktisch deutlich divergierenden adnominalen Paradigmen beider Sprachen. Der empirischen Untersuchung liegt ein umfangreiches Korpus Ã¼berwiegend schriftsprachlicher Texte zugrunde.
