Die Beiträge reflektieren Grundlagen des Diskurses und stellen aus unterschiedlichen theologischen Fachperspektiven Dinge wie z.B. Becher, Kreuz, Brot, Tintenfass, Glocke, Salböl, Kerze, Kanzel, Losungsbuch, Kalender, Sitzkissen, Grabstein, Bergschuhe, Schieferplatten, Tattoo, Maske oder Smartphone ins Zentrum und entfalten ihre ästhetische, religionskulturelle und (praktisch-)theologische Relevanz. Es wird gefragt, welche Rolle die Dinge in religiösen Praxen spielen, welche Deutungsprozesse sie anstoßen und wie sie in symbolische Kommunikation integriert werden. Dabei werden sowohl Bezüge zu verschiedenen Handlungsfeldern der Praktischen Theologie hergestellt als auch lebensweltliche Kontexte religionshermeneutisch erschlossen. Die exemplarischen Erkundungsgänge und Sondierungen wollen zu eigenen Entdeckungen im Kontext von Ding- und Zeichenwelten in praktisch-theologischer Perspektive anregen.
