Die �lpreiskrise heizte die Inflation an und vervielfachte globale Kapitalstr�me. Zugleich errichteten in Europa die Mitgliedsstaaten der EWG die Grundlagen einer gemeinsamen W�hrungsunion. Die vorliegende Studie untersucht die Reaktionen der Deutschen Bundesbank und der Banque de France auf diese Entwicklungen. Dabei wird besonders deutlich, wie die beiden Zentralbanken einerseits die Grundlagen ihrer bisherigen Geldpolitik auf den Pr�fstand stellten und neue Handlungsstrategien entwickelten, sowie andererseits eigenst�ndige Wirkkraft entfalteten, durch die sie den Wandel der internationalen W�hrungs- und Wirtschaftsbeziehungen nachhaltig pr�gten.
