Es gibt eine Reihe klassischer grammatischer Probleme des Spanischen, die jeder mit der Hispanistik Befasste kennen muss: z.B. die funktionale Abgrenzung indefinido/perfecto bzw. indefinido/imperfecto, die beiden Futurbildungen, die Interaktion starker und klitischer Personalpronomina etc. Aus Sicht der Sprachpraxis bilden sie den Kern der zu lernenden „Grammatik“, in der Linguistik bilden sie einen zentralen Gegenstand des Forschungsinteresses. Während nun die Erkenntnisse der modernen Linguistik unter den Experten in den letzten Jahrzehnten oft zu einem fassbar besseren Verständnis der Phänomene geführt haben, standen sie in einer Gesamtschau bisher noch nicht zur Verfügung. Das Arbeitsheft schließt diese Lücke, indem es ausgewählte Konzepte auf die bekannten Probleme anwendet, so dass moderne Alternativbeschreibungen zu denen der gängigen Lernergrammatiken entstehen. Lehrende des Spanischen finden hier neue (und womöglich besser didaktisierbare) Beschreibungen altbekannter Probleme. Studierende der Hispanistik können sich zudem gezielt mit anwendungsrelevanten Aspekten der Linguistik vertraut machen, die für die sprachwissenschaftliche Analyse spanischer Gegenwartstexte im Master of Education/Staatsexamen benötigt werden.
