Dass Kants Philosophie für die philosophische Reflexion der kulturellen Welt des Menschen unzureichend sei, ist ein bis heute gängiges Vorurteil. Ihm entgegen liegt der vorliegenenden Arbeit die These zugrunde, dass eine Kulturphilosophie auf Basis des kantischen Kulturbegriffs und des kantischen Philosophiebegriffs als Theorie technischer Vernunft möglich ist. Diese philosophische Doktrin hat die Bedingungen der Möglichkeit der Erkenntnis von technischem Entwerfen und Handeln sowie deren Produkten zum Gegenstand. Indem der Autor zuerst werkimmanente Probleme zum Kulturbegriff Kants erörtert und anschließend eine ausführliche Analyse des Zweckbegriffs vorlegt, erbringt die Arbeit den Nachweis, dass eine kantische Kulturphilosophie in ihren Grundzügen rekonstruierbar und in ihrem Gehalt auch heute noch diskussionswürdig ist.
