Der Band enthält eine kritische Edition des Manuskripts von Tillichs Dogmatik-Vorlesung im Wintersemester 1925/26 bis zum Wintersemester 1926/27 an der TH Dresden. Was er unter dem traditionellen Begriff der Dogmatik vorträgt, kann als philosophische Theologie bezeichnet werden. Ihre Mitte hat sie im Christus als dem ""Durchbruch der vollkommenen Offenbarung"". Auf die Prolegomena folgen die Lehre von der Schöpfung (""theologische Seinsdeutung"") sowie die Lehre von der Erlösung (""theologische Geschichtsdeutung""). Die Lehre von der Vollendung (""theologische Sinndeutung"") ist nicht mehr ausgeführt. Die Edition ist eine vollständige Neubearbeitung des von Werner Schüßler 1986 herausgegebenen Textes.
