¿Cómo los vectores ""globalización"" y ""tecnología"" configuran los espacios y tiempos que la narrativa en español a ambos lados del Atlántico busca representar? ¿Cómo se piensa a sí misma la literatura en coexistencia con las tecnologías que determinan la posibilidad de tomar la palabra o de percibir la realidad? ¿Cómo la literatura articula un lenguaje que se adecua a la transcripción literaria de su presente? Los ensayos de este volumen responden a estas cuestiones desde tres ángulos: en primer lugar, leyendo la tecnología como un dispositivo formal que afecta a la representación; en segundo lugar, atendiendo a la presencia temática de la tecnología, manifestación privilegiada de la cultura material de una época que apunta a conflictos ideológicos clave de nuestro tiempo; en tercer lugar, reflexionando sobre el propio estatuto de lo literario, que dialoga intensamente hoy con sus otros semióticos. El libro que el lector tiene ante sí pretende ser una contribución al mapa teórico-analítico que en los últimos años se viene desarrollando sobre los ""territorios"" de un presente heterogéneo, heterocrónico y globalizado, visibilizados por la narrativa actual de España y América Latina.
