This book offers an original and comprehensive study of the memory of theÂ Rogo di Primavalle, a fatal arson attack on the home of a far-right family onÂ 16 April 1973. Perpetrated by members of the militant left group PotereÂ Operaio, this was the first attack on a domestic space during Italyâ€™s Years ofÂ Lead. Through analysis of media coverage, books,Â and social media;Â observation of commemoration ceremonies;Â visits to sites of memory;Â andÂ oral history interviews conducted by the author,Â The Politics of SacrificeÂ argues that memory of the Rogo di Primavalle has been instrumentalisedÂ by neo-fascist groups over the past 50 years.
