Mollet-ViÃ©villeâ€™s apartment on the rue Beauborg showcased his incredible collection of minimalist and conceptual art; the flat served flexibly as home, gallery and crossroads of international contemporary art. Featuring works by Victor Burgin, Dan Flavin, Donald Judd, Carl Andre, Claude Rutault, Art & Language, John McCracken and Lawrence Weiner, Mollet-ViÃ©villeâ€™s collection, and its display in his apartment, defined a radical approach to collecting and played an important role in publicizing the work of these artists in France. MAMCO acquired Mollet-ViÃ©villeâ€™s groundbreaking collection in 2017; The Apartment is the first publication to celebrate and study Mollet-ViÃ©villeâ€™s collection and its faithful reinstallation at MAMCO Geneva as a â€œperiod roomâ€ of contemporary art history.
