Chris Rafferty's first assignment as a reporter is to investigate claims made by a religious cult that The Agency has manifested a demon . When he meets Dr. Battu, who offers to give him an expose in exchange for Rafferty's commitment to help defeat The Agency and reveal the truth, he agrees. But when Battu's plan goes awry and the creature is loosed on the city, he finds himself trapped in a surreal nightmare where all reality is called into question.
