| book description |

Peter Poplaski is a long admired and multi-faceted presence in the comics industry. A longtime editor and art director at Kitchen Sink Press (1969-1999) Poplaski worked closely with such legends as Harvey Kurtzman, Milton Caniff, Will Eisner and R. Crumb. He drew the dozen or so definitive covers for KSP/DC's Batman and Superman Dailies and Sundays collections. He edited and designed the definitive R. Crumb Coffee Table Art Book for Kitchen Sink/Little, Brown and authored/designed the best-selling R. Crumb Handbook for MQP. His personal eccentricity of publicly wearing a Zorro costume (as recorded in Hup, The New York Times, New Yorker, etc.) has become a trademark. This beautiful travel sketchbook focuses on southern France, where he now resides, and reveals a rare, true artist. Don't trust our word? The blurbs are from such fans as Will Eisner, Mark Schultz, Harlan Ellison and Frank Miller and the Introduction by Robert Crumb. Afterword by Poplaski. 208 pages.
